SUMMIT FEST ENTERTAINMENT LINE‑UP
At the Summit Walk - from 7am (check-ins open)
The atmosphere ignites as the Treasure Hunt launches to the deep, resonant call of the didgeridoo, performed by Jayson Kokles (just the man to start the day) — Over 2½ years (2018–2021)Jayson led the Gidarjil Corp training teams that constructed the Summit Walk .... with roughly 80 to 100 young trainees over the years, funded through a Qld Government program that Jayson applied for and managed.
The call of the Dideridoo will create an appropriate and powerful, grounding start to the day.
To keep the vibes moving at the mountain, enjoy the sounds of classic 70s and other songs from our fab local vocalist, Helen Downs, bringing resonant tones and energy to the Summit Walk, before heading down to the Racecourse for the main stage program.
This link is to a song and video made in honour of those who built the Summit Walk path: https://youtu.be/1AEXF-nZUEk (right click to open in a new tab/window).

At the Racecourse – from 10am
(Note: Bring CASH for purchases, including bar - limited EFTPOS )
Don't be caught out if the internet or ATM in town is offline. To be on the safe side, plan ahead and if you're coming from out of town, bring cash with you.... There's some online connectivity, but cash is king!) Note: In Mount Perry Telstra phones work, but typically NOT other networks.
Opening at the racecourse venue just after 10am, Jayson Kokles launches with the deep, resonant call of the didgeridoo.
Then the festival shifts into full swing as our local, fabulous Celebrity M.C. Susie Jay takes the reins, inviting you to sing, dance, and join in with Mount Perry’s COUNTRY BEAT LINE DANCERS. Dust off your boots for the Nutbush and a few extra foot-stomping crowd‑pleasers from Susie and the crew.
Throughout the day, there will be demonstrations and lively games from the Mercenaries of Western Europe, a historical reenactment group bringing colour, chainmail, swords, shields and authentic character, with a dash of medieval mischief, to the festival grounds.
Go for a Horse and Cart ride out on the race field! Get revved up with the sights of Vintage Car and Bike showings, and settle in with some tasty treats to eat and drink, (CASH please) market stalls, and enjoy a showcase of top‑notch local and visiting talent, including:
- “Dusty” Des Robinson — Mt Perry's answer to Slim Dusty, with his classic charm.
- Trish Patterson - She's BACK and she's fabulous!
- "Lefty" Freeman - Down-home footstompin' tunes from Lefty.
- Les Marchant - backing our artists on his wonder-drums
- Colleen Peterson & Alex Gasparic - adding their vocal surprises
- Joey Ace & Susie Jay — Show‑stopping performances and iconic impersonations from Mount Perry's own powerhouse vocalists and Australia’s Got Talent finalists.
- Helen Downs —singing up some smooth jazz, 70s, and nostalgic favourites at both the Summit and Racecourse venues through the day.
- PRIZE PRESENTATIONS scheduled for 2.30pm (TBC)
AND THEN enjoy our headline act - SPECIAL GUESTS … ABBA FEVER — bringing the sparkle, the harmonies, and the full tilt party energy to get you dancing to everyone's favourite ABBA songs!
