Matilda Saragosa Success in Motion & Associates
Matilda Saragosa is the first Parent Partner in the entire state of Texas, modeling her work after successful multidisciplinary practices around the country. Though Matilda joined the Family Care Advocacy Center (FCAC) as part of a short-term pilot program, she quickly became an integral and invaluable member of the team. FCAC is a nonprofit multidisciplinary law office that provides holistic representation for children and parents involved in the child welfare system in the greater Houston area.Matilda has a passion for leveraging her personal experiences to help others and was recognized by Fox 26 News for the community outreach work she has done bringing services to under-resourced individuals. Prior to coming to FCAC, Matilda is a graduate of Kathryn Griffin’s “We Been There Done That” reentry program she has volunteered for this program for a period of seven years and has earned the title of Program Administrator, she still volunteers as a Recovery Coach for Santa Maria, she has worked as the Program Administrator for the Harris County Star Family Drug Court, and was Case Management for the Ambassadors for Christ, assisting with runaway and homeless youth in a transitional living facility. She has been studying to become a licensed chemical dependency counselor at Houston Community College and will graduate this Spring 2021.In 2015, Matilda received the Award of Excellence from the Houston Recovery Initiative for Outstanding Peer. Matilda has completed numerous certifications to enhance her skills and knowledge and is currently a Peer Recovery Coach and Peer Recovery Support Specialist. She has also completed her educators’ course in Human Trafficking with Harris County Precinct OneMatilda believes “everybody deserves a second chance.” She states that “If it weren’t for second chances, I would not be where I am today.” Matilda accredits her success to those who have supported her and to her mentor Kathryn Griffin who has modeled and exampled community advocacy and courtroom support throughout the years.
