We are holding this meet to not only raise donations but to raise awareness! Although 10% of women worldwide are affected by Endometriosis, not many people have even heard of it or know truly what it is. Endometriosis occurs when cells similar to the ones in the lining of the womb (uterus) are found elsewhere in the body. These cells can grow and change in response to hormones in the menstrual cycle, this can cause inflammation, pain and scar tissue. Endometriosis can significantly impact a woman’s daily life due to chronic pain, fatigue, and other physical and emotional symptoms. Many women experience severe menstrual cramps, pelvic pain, and discomfort during everyday activities like walking, working, or exercising. The cause of endometriosis is unknown and there is no definite cure. We're working closely with Chiann, one of our Re:Fuel Marshalls, and Car Girl Culture, a women's only Car Club. Chiann's personal experience of the journey to diagnosis and treatment had a huge impact on her mental health. Taking time to enjoy her hobbies really helped her out during the whole process. Her main hobby was taking time in her car, whether that was going out for a short or long drive, giving it a wash or even just an evening planning further mods.
